In this blog post, I am going to discuss a scam that happened to one of my close family members. They were manipulated into thinking they were talking to a bank because the perpetrator was able to access many of their family members’ important information, which led them to believe that this person didn’t have evil intentions. This person so even got my family member to pull a large sum of money out of the bank to give to the perpetrator for an investment. Luckily, other family members were there to confront this perpetrator to discuss further action with the money on what was really going to happen. Then, to find out that this person was not part of a bank and had left shortly after learning that multiple people were attending the meeting. But all of this started from an email that turned into a phone call, which shows how quick scammers can ruin innocent peoples lives in a short period of time.
